My Own Bartender
02:35
|
|||
I woke up looked in the mirror
Asked myself for another beer
Thank you sir you’re too kind
It’s no trouble I don’t mind
I’m after something could you spare some advice
I’m looking for a drink Kahlúa rum and ice
Sit tight I’ll fire up the blender
I’m my own bartender
Having sips drinking beer
At my bar I’m the only one here
But I’m happy to drink alone
Like Thorogood and George Jones
I need something stronger do you have something else
May I recommend some whisky from the top shelf
Give’r what you’ve got and go ahead and send’r
I’m my own bartender
Polished off my whisky as I paid up my tab
Hey bartender call our cab
Theres no need beds over there
Thanks a lot I fall down the stairs
You’ve done it this time my visions blurred
Legs are loose I think you over served
I guess you’re right I put us both on a bender
I’m my own bartender
I’m my own bartender
I’m my own bartender
I’m my own bartender
Yeah
Oh Lord I’m my own
Bartender yeah

Hurricane
03:16
|
|||
It all starts with a smile and a whole lot of stay a while
So let me plant a kiss on your sweet lips tonight
I’ll hold you close in the rain even through a hurricane
So let me take you out I’ll sweep you off your feet tonight
So we drive straight down that old dirt road a hundred miles from here
Stay up late or watch the stars at night maybe share a couple beer
We can stay all week or we can go right now and that’s totally up you
But against all odds drove through the pain in the eye of the hurricane
I said I do so did you and we had nothing left to lose
So we ran away on a three week honey moon
A small house plot of land that was built by my Grampy’s Dad
So we settled down real nice just the two of us and we sang
We can drive straight down that old dirt road a hundred miles from here
Stay up late or watch the stars at night maybe share a couple beer
We can stay all week or we can go right now and thats totally what we did
We went back home to the promise land and we had a couple kids
So we’ll drive straight down that old dirt road a hundred miles from here
Stay up late watch the stars at night maybe share a couple beer
We can stay all week or we can go right now and thats totally up you
But against all odds drove through the pain in the eye of the hurricane
Against all odds drove through the pain
In the eye of a hurricane
Against all odds drove through the pain
In the eye of a hurricane

When She Drinks
03:24
|
|||
My girlfriend has a real nice ass
She’s educated yeah she’s got class
My girlfriend she works a 9 to 5
And doesn’t go out on Friday nights
My girlfriend would rather stay at home
Curled up with a book and her sister on the phone
My girlfriend she’s doing alright
Doesn’t party often she’s not the type
But when she drinks she drinks
Doesn’t care what people think
And she’s got the moves to prove it
When she moves she grooves
Cuts the rug in dixie boots
And she’s not afraid to lose it
Lord when she drinks
One weekend not long ago
We rocked the house in Edmonton it was a sold out show
I saw my girlfriend at the back sipping beer laying low
She left the beer at the booth to shoot whisky front row
But when she drinks she drinks
Doesn’t care what people think
And she’s got the moves to prove it
When she moves she grooves
Cuts the rug in dixie boots
And she’s not afraid to lose it
On the dance floor looking hot tonight
Showing off her wild side
Normally she’s kind of shy
But when she drinks she feels alive yeah
When she drinks she drinks
Doesn’t care what people think no
And she’s got the moves to prove it
When she moves she grooves
Cuts the rug in dixie boots
And she’s not afraid she’s boozin
Yeah when she drinks
When she drinks

Roll in the Sand
04:39
|
|||
First came the margarita ended with tequila
A black out night on an afternoon
The saloon was hazy and I was feeling lazy
But the girl beside me was leaving soon
So I made my move with some courage from the booze
Thought what the hell I’ve got nothing to lose
Now were getting loaded in the heat
Like a summer breeze I swept her off her feet
Tequila in hand and a roll in the sand
The suns going down on a new romance
The morning after bit of awkward laughter
A pool floaty on the floor by the bed
The sheets were a shaking and the noise we were making
Kept room 32 up all night long
I wrote this song to remember her face
Least I could do since she decided to stay
Now were getting loaded in the heat
Like a summer breeze I swept her off her feet
Tequila in hand and a roll in the sand
The suns going down on a new romance
Split a cab to the airport said adiós to the resort
When she boarded the plane I gave a tip of the hat
Rushed to the bar to kill some time drank tequila with no lime
When they paged my flight I paid my tab
When I play this song I remember her face
When I strike that chord I remember that place
Now were getting loaded in the heat
Like a summer breeze I swept her off her feet
Tequila in hand and a roll in the sand
The suns going down on a new romance
A new romance

Home Again
03:50
|
|||
Just got in to my home town
Still clear to see there ain’t much around
The sun was rising in the morning sky
Like the day that I waved goodbye
A CD in the stereo
But its not the same
When I grew up we listened in the truck
To cassette tapes
We were born in the 90’s
Now thats far behind me
Where did the good times go it all just fades away
Oh the fade away
Memories of this place
They’ll come rushing in
As I step through the front door I’m home again
The fixer-up that my parents had
Shingles red man that roof was bad
Mom had the clothes hanging out on the line
A home cooked meal at dinner time
My old school on the same old road
The same stations on the radio
The same pickup that my father owned
The same number on the landline phone
Friends and I hanging out all night
Down Tower Road like old times
Making memories by the fire
Don’t let them fade away
Oh they fade away
Memories of this place
They’ll come rushing in
As I step through the front door I’m home again
This could be the last time that I’m here
Pulling out of the driveway shedding tears
I hope my memories won’t disappear
Or fade away
Oh they fade away
Memories of
Come rushing in
As I step through the front door I’m home again
I’m home again

Empty Room
05:10
|
|||
Tired eyes stare through a dirty glass there was no hope in sight
Just a photograph with a written name placed by the candle light
You see his daughter she went missing not even a year ago
Yes that day still hurts him greatly but no one could even know
How he tried his best to find her running screaming through the night
That man’s little girl was missing somewhere fighting for her life
He still had things to teach her he still had love to share
Now he walks past an empty room and there’s still nobody there
He wrestles now with the memories as he stares through the window pane
While he holds that little picture that was taken from the frame
And his hurting heart sinks lower cause he knows very well
Daddy’s girl ain’t coming home tonight oh it wasn’t hard to tell
That he tried his best to find her running screaming through the night
That man’s little girl was missing somewhere fighting for her life
He still had things to teach her he still had love to share
Now he walks past an empty room and there’s still nobody there
He still tried his best to find her running screaming through the night
That man’s little girl was missing somewhere fighting for her life
He still had things to teach her he still had love to share
Now he walks past an empty room and there’s still nobody there
How he tried his best to find her still nobody cared
Now he walks past an empty room and there’s still nobody there

Black Water
03:12
|
|||
Let me tell you bout a bad place where nobody goes
Way down a dirt road that nobody knows
If you’re looking for a good time or a shot of cheap thrills
You could be headed for a bad time it might get you killed
Oh Black Water
City limit sign
No man goes
Past the county line
20 folks missing since 1910
Last seen on the dirt road and never seen again
They went looking for a good time a shot of cheap thrills
It ended up a bad time and it got them killed
Oh Black Water
City limit sign
No man goes
Past the county line
20 white crosses by the road in the grass
They might have found the water but they never came back
They went looking for a good time a shot of cheap thrills
They were headed for a bad time and they were killed
Oh Black Water
City limit sign
No man goes
Past the county line
Hey don’t go down to that Black Water
Hey

My Something
02:21
|
|||
Something that you want is something that I’m not
She said its something I once had but now it’s lost
Something that you need is something I don’t have
I guess my something ain’t good enough cause you think my somethings bad
But thats OK I didn’t like you that much anyway
So read between the lines and have a nice day
Something that I have is something that she wants
And not your just a passerby that I’ve long since forgot
You had your shot I like this new girl quite a lot
Yeah she rolls me like a rock
Yeah you roll me baby
Something that you want is something that we have
While you’re left wandering we’re both having laughs
Cause it takes two and one of them just isn’t you
So keep your something to yourself babe we’re through

Docks of P.E.I.
03:31
|
|||
Midnight sand touching our toes
July weather taking off our clothes
Had all night out by the sea
I remember her I hope she remembers me
A memory of her by the docks of PEI
Packed our book bags set out on foot
Just followed our ears and hearts to the sound of the brook
Left our inhibitions and fears to the side
Ive never had more fun with you just killing time
A memory of her by the docks of PEI
And if she forgets me I’ll still remember her
Summer wasn’t long enough to make it work
Packed your book bag
We laughed and we cried
Then we hugged a while and then we
Hugged goodbye
The last memory of her on the docks of PEI
And if she forgets me I’ll still remember her
Summer wasn’t long enough to make it work
The last memory of her on the docks of PEI

Turns To Love
03:57
|
|||
I was raised to believe I would fall in love
But I soon found that I wasn’t enough
I’m so lonely I’m beside myself
If only I could find my someone else
If love only lasted a day
I’d fall for it anyway
When the lonely people find someone
Then the lonely turns to love
I’ve been left down out and beat
Been lonely and met with defeat
But it doesn’t really mean that much to me
Because I was raised to believe I’d rise above
And that one day I would be enough
So let’s press on and find ourselves
So we can find our someone else
If love only lasted a day
I’d fall for it anyway
When the lonely people find someone
Then the lonely turns to love
If love only lasted a day
I’d fall for it anyway
When the lonely people find someone
Then the lonely turns to love
Yeah
